Frozen shoulder often causes gradually increasing stiffness and pain that can interfere with dressing, reaching and sleep. Recovery can take time and varies substantially.
General educational information, not a diagnosis. Clinical review has not been recorded.
What happens during an assessment?
An assessment reviews shoulder range of movement, symptom history, medical conditions and whether a different shoulder problem could explain the symptoms.
What might a care plan include?
Gentle exercises, activity advice and phased rehabilitation may help manage symptoms and restore function as tolerated; some patients also need medical pain-management options.
Questions patients ask
Is frozen shoulder physiotherapy right for me?
There is no one treatment plan that suits everyone. The first step is to review the symptoms, medical history and functional goals, then decide whether physiotherapy, additional medical assessment or a different service is appropriate.
What should I bring to an assessment?
Please bring relevant reports or imaging if you already have them, a current medication list when relevant and a brief description of what daily activities have become difficult. You do not need to obtain scans solely to book a first enquiry.
Safety and next steps
Forceful stretching is not suitable for everyone, especially during very painful phases; seek an individual plan.
