Recovery after an injury is about more than the absence of pain. People may need to rebuild movement, strength, endurance and confidence in ordinary tasks.
General educational information, not a diagnosis. Clinical review has not been recorded.
What happens during an assessment?
The clinician reviews the injury, medical advice, present capacity and any precautions before setting functional goals.
What might a care plan include?
Depending on the injury, a plan may include guided mobility, strengthening, balance and gradual return to activity.
Questions patients ask
Is post-injury rehabilitation right for me?
There is no one treatment plan that suits everyone. The first step is to review the symptoms, medical history and functional goals, then decide whether physiotherapy, additional medical assessment or a different service is appropriate.
What should I bring to an assessment?
Please bring relevant reports or imaging if you already have them, a current medication list when relevant and a brief description of what daily activities have become difficult. You do not need to obtain scans solely to book a first enquiry.
Safety and next steps
Follow the treating medical team's restrictions; an undiagnosed fracture or serious injury should not be managed with general exercises alone.
