Sports and fitness injuries can interrupt training and everyday activity. The right response depends on the tissue involved, injury severity and current function.
General educational information, not a diagnosis. Clinical review has not been recorded.
What happens during an assessment?
A physiotherapist may review the mechanism of injury, swelling, strength, range of motion and sport-specific movements before planning progression.
What might a care plan include?
Rehabilitation may move from comfortable movement toward gradual strength, conditioning and sport-relevant tasks, with criteria-based progress.
Questions patients ask
Is sports injury physiotherapy right for me?
There is no one treatment plan that suits everyone. The first step is to review the symptoms, medical history and functional goals, then decide whether physiotherapy, additional medical assessment or a different service is appropriate.
What should I bring to an assessment?
Please bring relevant reports or imaging if you already have them, a current medication list when relevant and a brief description of what daily activities have become difficult. You do not need to obtain scans solely to book a first enquiry.
Safety and next steps
A possible fracture, severe swelling, instability or inability to bear weight should be medically assessed.
