Exercise therapy uses individually selected movements to support strength, mobility, balance or return to everyday activity. The right starting level depends on the person's present capacity.

General educational information, not a diagnosis. Clinical review has not been recorded.

What happens during an assessment?

An assessment can identify movements that are difficult, the strength or endurance required for daily tasks and what training is realistic for your goals.

What might a care plan include?

A clinician may suggest progressive strength work, controlled mobility, balance training or activity pacing with adjustments over time.

Questions patients ask

Is exercise therapy right for me?

There is no one treatment plan that suits everyone. The first step is to review the symptoms, medical history and functional goals, then decide whether physiotherapy, additional medical assessment or a different service is appropriate.

What should I bring to an assessment?

Please bring relevant reports or imaging if you already have them, a current medication list when relevant and a brief description of what daily activities have become difficult. You do not need to obtain scans solely to book a first enquiry.

Safety and next steps

Do not push through new severe symptoms or use generic exercise plans as a substitute for assessment following serious injury.
