Tennis elbow usually describes pain on the outside of the elbow, often noticed during gripping, lifting or repetitive work. It can occur without playing tennis.
General educational information, not a diagnosis. Clinical review has not been recorded.
What happens during an assessment?
The clinician may assess forearm tendon loading, grip, daily activity and possible referred pain from the neck or nearby nerves.
What might a care plan include?
A gradual loading programme, pacing and practical adjustments may help selected cases; other adjuncts depend on assessment.
Questions patients ask
Is tennis elbow physiotherapy right for me?
There is no one treatment plan that suits everyone. The first step is to review the symptoms, medical history and functional goals, then decide whether physiotherapy, additional medical assessment or a different service is appropriate.
What should I bring to an assessment?
Please bring relevant reports or imaging if you already have them, a current medication list when relevant and a brief description of what daily activities have become difficult. You do not need to obtain scans solely to book a first enquiry.
Safety and next steps
If symptoms follow major trauma or include significant nerve-related weakness, seek medical assessment.
