Scoliosis refers to a sideways spinal curve. A person may seek guidance about posture, discomfort, strength or safe activity, but treatment depends on age, curve severity and other factors.
General educational information, not a diagnosis. Clinical review has not been recorded.
What happens during an assessment?
A physiotherapist may review medical imaging or specialist advice, functional movement and current symptoms, and determine whether specialist assessment is needed.
What might a care plan include?
Support may involve individual exercise, conditioning, mobility advice and coordination with the treating doctor for suitable cases.
Questions patients ask
Is scoliosis physiotherapy right for me?
There is no one treatment plan that suits everyone. The first step is to review the symptoms, medical history and functional goals, then decide whether physiotherapy, additional medical assessment or a different service is appropriate.
What should I bring to an assessment?
Please bring relevant reports or imaging if you already have them, a current medication list when relevant and a brief description of what daily activities have become difficult. You do not need to obtain scans solely to book a first enquiry.
Safety and next steps
Physiotherapy must not be represented as a guaranteed way to correct a spinal curve; follow specialist advice when required.
